S1 E1 | Education's Climate Crisis

Much like Earth itself, education is experiencing a climate crisis. The situation isn’t yet hopeless, but simply telling teachers to take better care of themselves will not solve the problem. Instead, we must change the way we conceptualize and enact sustainable instruction in classrooms. We can do this by embracing six mindset shifts for #SustainableTeaching:

  • Humanity over Industry

  • Collectivism over Individualism

  • Empowerment over Control

  • Minimalism over Maximalism

  • Process over Product

  • Flexibility over Fixedness

For more information on the six mindset shifts, you can check out Make Teaching Sustainable: Six Shifts Teachers Want and Students Need.
